DEVELOPER WORK EXPERIENCE:
Micro Focus (EKR Agency) – May 2016 to Present
Worked on multiple teams and multiple stacks to build full stack experience on a large team of developers.

• Worked as front end developer on a team that consolidated many years of Micro Focus acquisitions into one website. Consolidated Attachmate.com, Borland.com, Serena.com, Novell.com, Netiq.com, and gwava.com into Microfocus.com. These sites were migrated to a LAMP stack that used the Laravel framework.

• Worked on the consolidations of the seven different intranets due to Micro Focus acquisitions into one company wide intranet to be accessed by 10,000 people. Built modules and specialized pages to pull in content from several SQL databases.

• Built over 30 training videos on how to use the new custom WordPress site, including how to properly use modules, navigation, and custom pages correctly.

• Managed redirects in Apache and Nginx for websites with over 50,000 pages as content was migrated from multiple sites to move Microfocus.com to a headless Drupal, and Nodejs website. Implemented a python script to test all redirects.

• Built new modules for Microfocus.com using a headless Drupal system and Nodejs. This included building dynamic UI in Drupal to input page content. The content was then passed as JSON to the Nodejs site where the front end of the module could be developed to display content.

• Maintained code in 5+ Git repositories using feature branches, release branches, rollback branches, pull requests, code reviews and Bitbucket.

• Practiced Agile methodologies using Jira, stand-ups, grooming meetings, sprints, retrospective meetings, and demonstration meetings.

• Worked on front end modules that included the use of Bootstrap, Uikit, Css3, Javascript, Jquery, HTML5, Blade templating, Nunjucks templating.

• Worked on backend of Laravel site that included the use of API’s to query data for 200+ products and the assets.

• Trained new employees on the systems and processes of the team. Became go to guy for getting new team members set up. Also preformed trainings for the team on Jquery, Mongo DB, and WordPress development.

• Decreased time to set up a local environment from two to three days down to four hours. Built the new local environment in Docker and setup script. Created documentation for the set up processes.

• Wrote Python scripts to build a site map, test for broken links, test redirects, and to spell check page content. Also wrote test scripts in PHP to check valid input from development and content teams.

• Worked on cross browser and operating system testing and styling.
